Chinese tourists recognise the beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way

The Wild Atlantic Way was given a prestigious Chinese tourism award at a ceremony this week, as it was named as the “Best International Self-Drive Route.”

Despite the tight competition, The Wild Atlantic Way was able to take the number one spot, beating off tough competition from Sweden, Malaysia, Tasmania, California and Florida.

An online voting system was used to determine the winning routes, and 10 million Chinese travellers participated in the poll. A major boost for Inishowen, at the start of the Wild Atlantic Way adventure, the Chinese tourism award can inspire Chinese tourists to come and experience the adventure, the scenery and the atmosphere for themselves.

One of the longest defined coastal routes in the world, the Wild Atlantic Way covers 2,000 kilometers of the Irish coasts. The route starts from the Inishowen Peninsula in the north and ends in Kinsale, County Cork, in the south.

Inishowen however is it's own microcosm of the Wild Atlantic Way, or Ireland in miniature, with everything the visitor needs to experience Ireland, without having to travel too far. Our very own Inishowen 100 can provide you with the landscape, the coastal views and beaches, the ocean, but most importantly, the famous welcome known the world over. There's so much to see and do.

With accolades, reviews and tributes piling up for Inishowen, Donegal and the Wild Atlantic Way, why not book your trip now!
