City of Derry Airport in Northern Ireland is the closest airport serving Inishowen with arrivals from London STN, Liverpool, and Glasgow, however many airlines will arrive in Belfast or Dublin. Transfers are easily accessible however - see the 'Bus' section below for further information, or you can always arrange for car rental from your arrival airport.
Transfers: If you are arriving at an airport, there are several bus operators providing links to Inishowen and Derry, the largest town in in the north west.
From Belfast Airport: The Airporter service provides a direct hourly connection to Derry from both airports, and takes just over an hour. All Airporter buses are equipped with free wifi, and the cost is typically £15 per adult, and £7.50 for children under 15. You can book online here. You will need to travel by taxi (around £3) to Derry's bus depot if you intend to continue by bus, or you can take a taxi directly to your destination.

From Dublin Airport: Bus Eireann and Ulsterbus operate an Expressway service from Dublin Airport, as well as from Búsaras, the main transport hub for Dublin, which arrives in Derry. From here you can connect with other services to travel to Inishowen. It costs around €9 per person. Other local providers including McGinley coaches offer twice daily direct transfers to and from Inishowen. Travel time is approximately 4 hours from Dublin, and 3h 30 mins from Dublin Airport.
From City of Derry Airport: Translink offer a frequent bus connection to Derry City Centre's bus terminal. From here, change to the other local operators including McGonigle Buses & North West Busways, who offer an hourly service to Buncrana and many other parts of Inishowen. Taxis are also relatively cheap, with an average fare to Buncrana of £30, or £40 to Carndonagh.
Getting around locally:
McGonagle Buses operate an hourly service between Buncrana and Derry return, stopping along the way at Fahan, Burnfoot and Bridgend, while North West Busways operates travel services around the rest of Inishowen, to Derry, and to Letterkenny.
